What We Believe

Cathedral House of Truth is a Bible believing, Teaching, Training, and Worship Center, whose purpose is to make disciples of Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:19-20) We are founded upon the belief that the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of GOD.

We believe in one eternal GOD who is creator of all things and exists in three persons: GOD the Father, GOD the Son, GOD the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1, 26; Psalms 90:2; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1-3).

We believe Jesus is the Son of GOD. He was born of the virgin Mary and walked on earth fully GOD and fully human. He was crucified and buried, but on the third day arose from the dead and is seated at the right hand of the Father making intercession for us. (Isaiah 9:6; Matthew 1:22-23; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Hebrews 4:15).

We believe the Bible is the Word of GOD. It is unified; indestructible; historically, scientifically, and prophetically accurate. (2 Timothy 3:16; Psalm 12:6; 68:11; Isaiah 40:22; Genesis 17:9-12; Job 26:7; Genesis 13:16; 15:5; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Proverbs 30:5).

We believe salvation is a gift from GOD made possible by the shed blood of Jesus on Calvary, and is received by grace through repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ. (John 3:17; Romans 5:10; 10:9-10; Ephesians 1:7, 2:5, 8-9; Luke 24:47; Titus 3:5-7).

We believe there are two major ordinances of the church:

  1. Water Baptism - This is an ordinance of the church that is not necessary for salvation, but it symbolizes the death and burial of the old man, and the resurrection of the new man. It is a public acknowledgment that one has accepted Jesus as their Savior. (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:4).

  2. Communion - Communion is an ordinance Jesus gave to all believers to remember the sacrifice He made for us. When we take communion, which represents His broken body and shed blood, it demonstrates our faith in the cross and the fulfillment of the New Covenant. (Matthew 26:26-28; Mark 14:22-24; Luke 22:19-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26).

We believe Christian fellowship and church attendance both serve to strengthen unity of the faith and stirs us to exercise our faith. Church attendance is essential because it is a command of GOD and it is the place where we can come together to worship GOD, grow in our faith together, and be taught GOD’s Word; which will lead to our spiritual growth. (1 John 1:3; Ephesians 4:11-16; Romans 10:14-15; Hebrews 10:25).

We believe in the second coming of Jesus when those who are dead in Christ will be resurrected and those who are still alive will be caught up to meet Him in the air. And that He will later return with all His saints to rule on the earth for 1,000 years. (Acts 1:11; Matthew 16:27; Luke 21:27; 1 Thessalonians 4:14-17; Revelation 20:6).

We believe divine healing is a right for all believers, and that is has already been obtained through Christ’s death and resurrection. (Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:16-17; James 5:14-16).

We believe miracles still occur today and have a primary function of convincing unregenerate man that GOD is real. (Mark 16:17; John 14:12).

We believe holiness is a lifestyle and is the outward evidence of a life that has been transformed. (Ephesians 4:24; Romans 12:1-2; Hebrews 12:14; 1 Timothy 4:12).
